Having been especially impacted by a reading of this book several years ago, I’m intrigued by the detail on this photograph of an original 1746 edition of Edwards’ Religious Affections (housed in the Billy Graham Museum in Wheaton, IL).

Thank you for posting this. One of my favorite quotes, which I quote in my book that will be out next Fall is,
“And although self-examination be a duty of great use and importance, and by no means to be neglected, yet it is not the principal means by which the saints do get satisfaction of their good estate. Assurance of salvation is not to be obtained so much by self-examination as by action.” Jonathan Edwards, The Religious Affections (Carlisle, PA: The Banner of Truth Trust, 1746; reprint, 1997), 123, emphasis his.
After seeing your great pics, I thought you might like to see some by a friend of ours. Matt Brandon is on staff with Frontiers and was until recently living in Kashmir, India. He will be leaving in a few months with his wife and daughter to move to Malaysia to photograph 6 of the unengaged peoples. They will remain to facilitate the teams that we prayerfully hope will see the photos and give their heart to foreign missions. He is used greatly by God to give us faces to tribes, tongues and people who will be at the throne!
